Scotland Memorial Hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialties including anesthesiology, cardiology, dermatology, emergency medicine, family medicine, gastroenterology, general surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, medical and radiation oncology, nephrology, neurology, occupational medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, pathology, pediatrics, pulmonology, and urology. Currently the hospital has an affiliation with FirstHealth of the Carolinas in Pinehurst, North Carolina, to provide mobile catheterization services using our own cardiologists. Medical Oncology and Pediatric Cardiology services are provided through our affiliation with Duke University Health System.
Scotland Memorial Hospital is a growing hospital, as evidenced by our expansion projects now underway in our Cancer Treatment Center, Surgical Services, and the ICU. Last year we completed the construction of a facility for the new Scotland Urgent Care and Imaging Center on our hospital campus. Scotland Urgent Care provides medical care for patients with non life-threatening injuries and illnesses. In this facility we also offer convenient outpatient imaging services for mammography, ultrasound, Dexascan, and general imaging. Our Certificate of Need for an additional 21 inpatient beds has been submitted to the State. We hope to start this expansion to the hospital in 2009.
