Physician Assistant – Orthopaedics Hospital Based

Job Description

Multi-Specialty Group of Orthopaedic Surgeons seek to add a full-time Physician Assistant.  The new PA will be based within the Hospital and will have responsibilities for first assisting, ED Consults (fracture assessment and management), rounding and inpatient management.  The PA will handle a combination of cases (total joints, sports, shoulder and knee scopes, fracture care and some spine).  The new PA will work within all the orthopaedic specialty areas.  This is a state of the art Hospital.


Responsibilities include:

·         Surgical first assist

·         ED consults


·         Reduction of fractures and dislocations

·         Joint aspiration and injections

·         Inpatient Management

·         Pre and post-operative H&P’s and follow-up

·         Hospital rounding

·         Write scripts and coordinate with PT

·         Evaluate X-ray, CT Scan and MRI


Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified.  Previous orthopaedic experience preferred, but not required!  Will train a new graduate if they have prior healthcare experience (Orthopaedic Technician, PT, Orthopaedic RN etc.).  The PA must have excellent interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.  The location is approximately 50 minutes to DC area.  The area provides solid schools and access to D.C., Baltimore and the Pennsylvania area.  Compensation:  Open, plus a bonus potential.  Additionally, there is a full benefits package.  Please send your resume to the attention of Fred Perlman at:  (register or log in to show contact information).
