Orthopaedic Department of a state-of-the-art Hospital seeks to add another Physician Assistant to their team. The department handles all orthopaedic injuries (sports, total joints, hand, F&A etc.). The department is in the forefront of minimally invasive surgical technology.
The new PA will support all sub-specialty trained Orthopaedic Surgeons within the Department of Orthopaedics. This is a hospital based position! Specific responsibilities include: OR (performing first assists), post and pre-operative care, H&P’s, injections, reductions, rounding, casting and splinting, coordinate with PT/OT Departments, writing prescriptions, ordering tests and managing records. There is a call schedule. The position is three 13.5 hour shifts per week or four 10 hour shifts per week. If additional hours are worked, the PA will be paid time and a half.
Successful candidate must be NCCPA-certified/eligible. Candidates must have orthopaedic PA experience. The new PA must have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and procedural-oriented. Preference is for local candidates. Candidates must be living in the New York Metro area.
