The new PA will directly support an Orthopaedic Surgeon with a Trauma Fellowship. This position is 80% trauma and 20% general. This is level two trauma. The PA will be an integral part of an orthopaedic trauma team working with cutting edge technology. The position includes general orthopaedics and trauma. The trauma Doctors handle cases involving: ankle, humorous, hip, F&A and pelvic, wrist fractures, open and closed fractures of the femur and tibia, intra-articular fractures involving the knee and intra-articular fractures of the ankle. This position is 4.5 day work week with call three weekdays per month (no trauma call).
The new PA will have the following responsibilities:
+ Provide surgical first assist
+ Perform patient evaluations
+ Casting and splints
+ Joint aspirations and injections
+ Fracture reductions
+ Post-op follow-ups and rounding
+ Call coverage
+ Patient education
+ Order diagnostic test and review results
This orthopaedic group has very little turnover. The new PA can live within one hour of the Twin Cities area.
Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified/eligible. New graduates or soon-to-be graduates are welcome to apply! Candidates must have completed an orthopaedic rotation! Salary depends on experience level. Additionally, there is an excellent full benefits package provided which includes 401k profit sharing, full medical, four weeks vacation, one week CME, insurance, etc. A relocation package is offered.
