Orthopaedic Sports Group seeks a full-time Physician Assistant. This practice includes a strong percentage of sports cases. The new PA will work directly with a Sports Fellowship trained Doctor that handles extensive volume of complex knees and shoulder cases. They currently work with semi-pro, college and high school sports teams. The position is a split between the OR and the clinic. New candidates must have orthopaedic experience, but will consider a new PA with ATC background and orthopaedic rotation. The candidate must be a quick learner, have excellent interpersonal skills, be a hard worker and really have a strong desire for orthopaedics.
The position has minimal or no call requirements and no weekends, unless the PA desires some event coverage.
- First assist, if desired (knees, shoulders and some fracture cases)
- Initial evaluations
- Joint aspiration and injections
- Pre-op and post-op H&P’s
- Team PA for sporting events
- Write scripts
- Coordinate with Physical Therapist and ATC
- Ordering tests and evaluate X-Ray, CT Scan and MRI
- Casting and splinting
- Fracture reductions
- Event coverage (optional)
The location is a great area in Milwaukee. The area has a solid economy, great schools, low crime and low cost of living. In addition, the location provides colleges and an abundance of outdoor activities. Compensation: Open, plus a bonus program.
