Well-established Orthopaedic Group seeks to add a full-time Physician Assistant. The new PA will work one on one with an Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialty in sports medicine. The practice is a strong volume of shoulders and knees, fractures and some general cases. The new PA must enjoy working with all level of athletes (high school, college, weekend warriors) as well as ATC’s. The PA will work in the OR and the clinic.
The new PA will have the following responsibilities:
+ Provide surgical first assist
+ Perform patient evaluations
+ Casting and splints
+ Joint aspirations and injections
+ Fracture reductions
+ Post-op follow-ups and rounding
+ Call coverage is light
+ Patient education
+ Order diagnostic tests and review results
Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified. Previous orthopaedic experience is preferred, but will train a new graduate (from the region) that is PANCE-Certified and has an IL license. The location is an upscale Chicago Suburb. The new PA must be effective in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure. Of course, the new PA must have excellent interpersonal skills and have a great work ethic. Salary depends on experience, plus incentive bonus. Additionally, there is a full benefits package.
