Orthopaedic Department of a state-of-the-art Hospital seeks to add another Physician Assistant to their team. The department handles all orthopaedic injuries (sports, total joints, hand, F&A etc.). The department is in the forefront of minimally invasive surgical technology. They are also involved with new product trials and research. This is a hospital based position!
The location is a very upscale area of New York City (suburbs) and is a convenient 20 minutes to Manhattan. The NY Metro area provides lots of universities, great schools, museums, theater, culture, beaches and more.

The new PA will support all sub-specialty trained Orthopaedic Surgeons within the Department of Orthopaedics.
Specific responsibilities include: OR (performing first assists), post and pre-operative care, H&P’s, injections, reductions, rounding, casting and splinting, coordinate with PT/OT Departments, writing prescriptions, ordering tests and managing records. There is no call. The position is three 12.5 hour shifts per week. If additional hours are worked, the PA will be paid time and a half. There is an occasional Saturday shift and/or possibly one overnight.
Successful candidate must be NCCPA-certified/eligible. The group desires an experienced Orthopaedic PA. However, they will train only new graduates with an orthopaedic rotation and must have PANCE certification. The new PA must have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and procedural-oriented. Preference is for local candidates. Candidates must be living in the New York Metro area and must be available to start within 60 days!
