Well-established Orthopaedic Group seeks to add a full-time Physician Assistant to their team. The new PA will work one on one with a General Orthopaedic Surgeon. The PA will work two days in the OR and three days in the clinic. Cases include: total joints, shoulder (rotator cuff), knees (ACL’s), fractures and general orthopaedic cases. The PA will run a parallel orthopaedic clinic with the Doctor.
The new PA will have the following responsibilities:
+ Provide surgical first assist
+ Perform patient evaluations
+ Casting and splints
+ Joint aspirations and injections
+ Fracture care
+ Post-op follow-ups and rounding
+ Call coverage is very minimal
+ Patient education
+ Order diagnostic test and review results
Successful candidate should be Board-Certified. Previous orthopaedic/surgical/medical experience is preferred. Will train a new graduate! The location is within 15 minutes of Champaign. The new PA must be effective in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure. Of course the new PA must have excellent interpersonal skills and have a great work ethic. The location offers reasonable cost of living, has universities, regional airport and provides access to Chicago. Salary depends on experience level.
