Large multispeciality surgical group in Westchester County NY is seeking an experience Physician Assistant to work with their pediatric neurosurgical team.
Job Summary: Physician assistants provide medical and surgical care alongside physicians, who oversee their works and provide medical supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take a patient’s medical history/record demographics
- Order and interpret tests
- Conduct physical examinations
- Diagnose and treat illnesses
- Write prescriptions
- Assist in surgeries
- Complete invasive procedures
- Counsel patients on preventative care
- Explain treatment and care plans for both pre-op and post op
- Proficient knowledge in certain specialty
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science related field, required
- Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, preferred
- Take and Pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE)
- NYS Physician Assistant License
Work Environment:
- Office and OR setting
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to follow physician’s orders
- Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPPA)
- Respond to patient concerns and complaints
M-F role
2/3 days of OR 2/3 of clinic
Previous experience in a First Assist role a huge plus but willing to train the right New Graduate who has completed in depth surgical rotations
