We are hiring an experienced general surgery physician assistant in Chicago, Illinois!

Our general surgeon team has robust technology, resources, well-rounded autonomy and duties, ample exciting surgeries and some of the most cutting edge techniques out there for top notch general surgery care!

 

 

Broad range of surgical areas including various types of cancer, endocrine disorders, esophageal diseases, bariatric surgical treatment, breast diseases, and more. In treating this wide spectrum of diseases, our surgeons are also trained to use minimally invasive techniques, including robotic and laparoscopic approaches, to ease the patient’s surgical experience. Our surgeons also work in close collaboration with experts across the hospital to ensure each patient receives the care he or she deserves to achieve optimal outcomes.

 

 

Assist in all general surgery procedures, including minimally invasive procedures using the Da Vinci Robot System.

Assists in team effort to prepare for and expedite the start of surgery in the OR.

Provides the appropriate preparation of the patient for surgery.

Provides appropriate preoperative and postoperative instructions, and facilitates discharge planning.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Rounds and provides clinical care for in-house patients.

Prepares charts for clinic ([link removed], outside records, pre-charting).

Assists physicians and provides independent clinical care to patients.

Coordinates patient and family education needs with staff, case managers, and other clinical personnel.

Establishes and maintains a collaborative relationship with health care colleagues.

Evaluates goals and outcomes taking into account the benefit-versus-burden, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness for the patient, family and the organization.

Develops diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions needed to achieve the goals and outcomes of the patient’s plan of care.
