Emergency Medicine PA needed in Fort Lauderdale, FL - HCEP ER (23724938)

Our private ER group of 5 PA's and 14 MD's @ Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL are seeking a full time, permanent PA to join our team.

This is a rare opportunity. We have very little turnover amongst our PA's, with average tenure of 8 years. Ideally, we'd like to fill this position with a PA who has ties to South Florida and intends on staying with us for their career.

Our ER is rated #1 amongst all Trinity Hospitals across the Country. We are 1 mile from the beach, serving a diverse population.

We see 60k visits/year in our newly-renovated 50 bed ER.

You will get to see all ESI 2+ with a good balance of autonomy and support from attending MD's and experienced PA's. We also have a burgeoning EM GME program affiliated with University of Miami, so you will be working side-by-side with EM residents as well.

We currently have 40 hours of PA coverage/day spread across 4x 10 hour shifts (0800-1800, 1100-2100, 1800-0400), though this will likely change as volume dictates. No fast track shifts or provider in triage.

We are a heart and stroke center. We are NOT a trauma center, psychiatric facility, or pediatric hospital; all of these patients get transferred after ER stabilization.

EMR: Meditech currently. Switching over to EPIC in October.

W2 hourly pay commensurate w/ experience, with excellent benefits including 401K match, HSA, CME, and year-end bonus.

You must have an active FL license and NCCPA certification to apply. You must complete PALS, ACLS, BLS for credentialling. Do not need ATLS or DEA.

Firm start date is October 1, 2022.

You must be able to commit to at least 140 hours/month.

Pay is commensurate w/ experience; however, we value soft skills such as interpersonal skills, work ethic, and critical thinking more than experience. If you are a new grad with a passion for EM, please do not be dissuaded from applying to this position.
